Requirements for the Model Construction Phase

Initial Submissions (due to June 2)

The test set contains only compounds with positive and negative classifications (no equivocals)
There are no rules how to use the original NTP classifications from the training set
Each participant may submit up to 3 separate predictions per sex/species group
Predictions should be submitted by email to helma@informatik.uni-freiburg.de
The deadline is June 2
Format of Submissions: 4 files (one for each sex/species combination), plain text, two columns, tab separated
First line: your email adress
Second line: sex/species combination (M,F: male,female; R,M: rat,mouse)
Rest: Predictions
First column: Compound Nr.
Second column: Prediction (0: not carcinogenic, 1: carcinogenic)

Evaluation of Submissions

Based on ROC analysis we will select a subset of optimal models. These models will be evaluated by toxicologists for their scientific relevance. Participants in Stage II should be prepared to provide (within a very limited amount of time) a ``translation'' of their model, which is readable by toxicological experts.
